Yucca in varieties

A genus of dryland plants with rosettes of lance-shaped leaves, often with spiny apex, green, glaucous or yellow variegated; adult specimens produce large inflorescences of white bell-shaped flowers. Very resistant to drought, low temperatures, can be used for rock gardens, potted for outdoor decorations, patios, terraces.
The Yucca elephantipes species is large in growth, with numerous trunks reaching several meters in height, can tolerate temperatures of a few degrees below zero, so it is grown in the open air only in mild coastal areas, but is an excellent indoor plant. The species Yucca filamentosa e Yucca flaccida have a bushy habit, with numerous sprouts starting from underground rhizomes; in spring they produce large inflorescences on stems up to 2m tall; they can withstand very low temperatures, even over -15°C, and are excellent for borders, in association with herbaceous perennials and low shrubs. There are several variegated forms. The Yucca gloriosa species develops medium-height trunks, usually within 2m, has dense foliage crowns and branches often from the base; a variegated form with yellow margins is also grown. It withstands very low temperatures on the order of -15°C; adult plants bloom in autumn, unlike other species. Yucca rostrata is a species with thin glaucous-green leaves and robust trunks normally sparsely branched, topped by dense canopies. has remarkable cold resistance and equally drought resistance, is grown in pots as an outdoor ornamental feature and in gardens in association with succulent plants.
