Chamaerops humilis

Chamaerops humilis called dwarf or St. Peter’s palm is the only wild palm species in the Mediterranean. It grows in coastal areas on rocky soils and is slow-growing, forming multiple trunks from the base, topped by fan-shaped leaves with thorny petioles.
Very resistant to drought, sea winds, and low temperatures, it is used in the garden as isolated specimens or groups.
The Compacta variety, also called Vulcan, is ideal for embellishing terraces and patios in decorative pots
